What It Is

Fractional Resurfacing, Precisely Delivered

The Lutronic® Light Laser uses fractional non-ablative technology to create thousands of micro-treatment zones in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response without damaging the surrounding tissue. The result is measurable improvement in skin tone, texture, and luminosity, with far less recovery than ablative alternatives.

Unlike aggressive ablative lasers, the Light Laser achieves results progressively. Each session builds on the last, stimulating collagen production and refining skin architecture over time.

The Process

Your Light Laser Experience

1

Consultation & Mapping

Dr. Heather Volpp evaluates your skin, reviews goals, and determines the optimal treatment parameters and number of sessions.

2

Numbing & Prep

A topical anesthetic is applied 30–45 min prior. Skin is cleansed and prepped for treatment.

3

Laser Treatment

The handpiece passes over the treatment area in a systematic pattern. Most patients describe a warm sensation with mild prickling.

4

Cooling & Recovery

Skin is cooled post-treatment. Mild redness resolves in 24–48 hours. You’ll leave with a full aftercare protocol.

Choosing Your Laser

Light vs. Ultra: Two Depths of Skin Resurfacing

Both are non-ablative fractional laser treatments that renew your skin from within, the difference is how deeply they work. The right choice comes down to your goals, how much recovery time you have, and how much change you’re after.

Ultra

Illustrative only — the Light Laser refreshes nearer the surface; the Ultra Laser reaches deeper for more remodeling.

Surface Refresh · Lightest · This Page

Lutronic Light Laser

A gentle, more superficial treatment that brightens tone and smooths surface texture with minimal downtime.

  • Great for first-time laser patients or a pre-event glow
  • Ongoing maintenance between deeper treatments
  • Minimal downtime — light redness that settles quickly

Deeper Resurfacing · Most Intensive

Lutronic Ultra Laser

Delivers more energy deeper into the skin to work on stubborn pigment, texture, and collagen — more change per session.

  • For more visible sun damage or uneven texture
  • Deeper collagen remodeling, fewer sessions for bigger change
  • A little more redness — plan for a short recovery

Why is the Light Laser more affordable?

Because it's a lighter, more superficial treatment. It uses less laser energy over a gentler session, so it asks less of your skin — and your recovery. The Ultra Laser reaches deeper and does more remodeling in a single visit, which is why it's priced higher.

Neither is simply “better” — they’re different tools for different goals. Many patients start with the Light Laser and step up, or alternate the two over time.
